Casa Comedy: Which Team is Funniest? With ComedySportz LA

San Clemente, CA – Comedy is a SPORT in this fast-paced competition between two sketch comedy teams from ComedySportz LA. Known as the longest-running comedy show in Los Angeles, the ComedySportz LA team will bring their improv talents to Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens for one night only on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 7:00pm. This is ComedySportz’s first professional league event in Orange County.
ComedySportz Los Angeles was founded in 1988 by James Thomas Bailey. ComedySportz alums have appeared on MADtv, Saturday Night Live, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, The Sarah Silverman Program, Jimmy Kimmel Live and many, many more. ComedySportz also runs a national association of high school leagues. Several Orange County high schools have accredited junior leagues.
This event is appropriate for all ages. There will be a cash bar for wine and beer ($5) with complimentary light snacks; adults must bring valid ID for the bar. For students, Casa Romantica is offering bulk discounts to student members of the ComedySportz high school leagues and to the San Clemente High School International Thespians Society. Teams must purchase bulk tickets over the phone at (949) 498-2139 in advance of the performance, and must bring student ID for check-in.
Tickets to Casa Comedy: Which Team is Funniest? With ComedySportzLA are $25 for general admission, $20 for members, and $18 for student groups of 4 or more who are on an approved team. Casa Romantica also hosts a variety of free arts education programs for children year-round. The institution’s annual Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy has received critical praise for its comprehensive two-week music studies program in cello, piano, viola, and violin, and begins its third season in summer 2017. Casa Romantica also offers a Summer Dance Workshop, a Spring Break Arts Week, various art, literature, and horticulture events to grades K-12, and welcomes over 2,000 children from the Capistrano Unified School District each year for STEAM-based field trips that examine the history of San Clemente and the coastal environment.
