Jade and Gabbie met in September of 2008 as teenagers. Gabbie and her good friend, also named Gabriela (called Gabi) were on their way to a party, and picked up Gabi’s friend Jade en route. Gabbie and Jade hit it off immediately, and the pair’s love flourished over time prior to their engagement. On November 24, 2016, Jade surprised Gabbie by forgoing his own family’s Thanksgiving in Bakersfield to visit her own family’s holiday celebration. She was completely surprised and asked, “Why are you here and not with your family?”’ Jade passionately declared his love for Gabbie in front of her family, and proposed her hand in marriage.
“I was so excited that I nearly passed out!” Gabbie remembers. Fortunately, she was able to compose herself. She accepted, and after a celebration at her father’s home, the couple called all of their family and friends with the happy news.
What the couple wanted most in a venue was an intimate layout that would allow them to be close to their beloved family and friends as they celebrated their marriage. After touring 8 different venues, Jade and Gabbie arrived at the Casa. Upon walking through the doors, “We felt like we had entered an oasis away from everything,” Gabbie reminisced. “Jade and I couldn’t stop looking at each other and smiling.” Casa Romantica’s intricate Spanish architecture and decor, along with its Ocean Terrace, so perfectly fit their vision of an outdoor ceremony with an unmistakable California vibe.
Photographer Aaron Dieppa and his assistant Lan flawlessly captured the wedding, as well as the couple’s engagement photos. Gabbie has nothing but praise for Aaron, as “he was so personable and we right away felt comfortable with him and confident that he would do a great job capturing our special day.”
Wedding coordinator Priscilla Granger lined up a selection of high-quality vendors from Casa Romantica’s Exclusive and Preferred Vendor List that made the entire event run smoothly. The couple could not have been more pleased with how she handled communications and her willingness to answer their questions. Carbonara Catering, led by Jessica Sweredoski, ensured that the food came out exactly how the couple wanted it to — giving Gabbie and Jade peace of mind on their big day. She even packed them to go plates for a midnight snack when they got back to their hotel room. After running around all day, it was a gesture that the ravenous pair appreciated tremendously.
As for the DJ, Epic 1 DJ‘s Todd Allen made dancing the night away effortless with his positive energy and strategic playlist.
