Alexandra’s and Jerry’s story began back in high school, though they had known each other since childhood. After the pair was assigned to complete a school project together during their junior year, Alexandra — much to Jerry’s surprise — asked him out. Alex and Jerry’s love stayed strong after high school and through college, despite being 700 miles apart for most of those years.
After graduating college, Jerry decided he was ready to make Alexandra his wife. She is an avid fan of Disneyland, so when he got an opportunity to take Alexandra to the ultra-exclusive Club 33 restaurant hidden inside the theme park, he knew that it was the perfect location to pop the question.
Just before their meal arrived at the swanky restaurant, they went out on a balcony near their table and Jerry presented her with an anniversary gift. “It was a mug…with a ring box in it,” recalls Jerry. Alexandra pulled out the mug, and by the time she noticed the ring box and looked up, Jerry was already on one knee!
Jerry and Alexandra knew that they wanted to get married at a venue near the ocean. They visited several locations before touring Casa Romantica, but nothing checked all of the boxes on their list. “As soon as we went to Casa Romantica, we knew that was where we wanted to get married!” said Alexandra, “It feels like you are together sharing the most important day of your life in your own private ocean view home.”
Jerry and Alexandra wanted their wedding day to reflect their simple, classic style. They blended neutral colors such as ivory with various shades of blue and green to mirror the natural beauty of the ocean and architecture of the historic property. They wanted the focus of their day to be on the people that traveled from all over the world to support their love as opposed to material things.
Beautiful potted succulents doubled as escort cards and gifts for guests to take home. The succulents paired perfectly with the stunning centerpieces created by Malorie from Collected With Love.
Iva Lee’s signature BACON BAR was a huge hit and reflected Jerry and Alexandra’s “simple yet extra personalities.” Guests enjoyed several different styles of bacon while sipping on signature cocktails.
Another hit that day was the couple’s wedding cake and desserts from Kylee of Black Sheep Sweets, which looked almost too good to eat. “Our cake and cupcakes were phenomenal and delicious! Kylee worked with our florist so well to incorporate our succulents with the cake,” said Alexandra.
Jerry and Alexandra both agreed that exchanging their vows and the first dance were their favorite moments from their special day. They danced outside on the Ocean Terrace to “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen — a very appropriate song for these two best friends getting married.
