San Clemente, CA – Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, a nonprofit southern California cultural center, is launching a new Music and Movement class series for infants and toddlers up to age 2. The series is part of Casa Romantica’s expanded CasaKids programming for 2019 and engages the institution’s youngest visitors.
There are two sessions taking place in Spring 2019. Music and Movement 1 will be held for four Tuesdays in March from 9-10 AM, beginning March 5. This session is designed for infants ages 0-2 and will be taught by children’s creative instructor Bernadette Richards. Sign-ups launched on Wednesday, February 27 and the class is free to attend; advance RSVP is required to participate due to limited class size.
Music and Movement 2 will be held for six Tuesdays in April and May from 12-1 PM, beginning April 16. This session is designed for infants and toddlers ages 0-2 and will be taught by children’s creative instructor Brooke Briggs. Sign-ups will open on April 1; the sign-up process will be the same as for Music and Movement 1. Parents or guardians interested in having their children participate must be available to attend all of the classes in each session that they sign up for.
Studies show that early exposure to music-making and dance in a social setting strengthens communication skills and motor skills.
Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens prides itself on making the arts accessible for its community. In addition to its programs for all ages in music, visual and performing arts, history, literature, and lifestyle, the institution hosts a number of programs and events for children year-round, all of which are free to participate in. Its most notable program is the Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy, an annual two-week summer academy that teaches musical instrument instruction and composition to children ages 8-13. Casa Romantica sponsors all costs, including instrument rentals, private instruction, and daily lunch and snacks.
