Are you getting married in 2022 or know someone who will be? Next year, over 2.5 million weddings will be taking place. According to NPR, the United States hasn’t seen this many weddings in 40 years! Get ready to see beautiful florals, gowns and parties all over your Instagram feed. We’ve composed some of the top trends for the wedding boom approaching.
1. Periwinkle Color Theme
Color experts have named “Very Peri” Pantone’s 2022 color of the year. “Encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time possessing a violet-red undertone, PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expression.”
Check out the ways to incorporate it in a color palette here.
2. Candlescapes and Funky, Earthy Plants
Candles create romantic ambiance for any wedding theme, and are particularly effective as table decor. Go as simple as single white roses in skinny vases with an array of tiny votive candles, or choose to have full floral displays with candles in hurricane glasses spread throughout.
You will also see floral scapes replaced with funky plant centerpieces. What’s the best thing about potted succulents or cactus for your tables? When your event is done, you’ll be able to give them as favors to your wedding guests, or reuse them to enhance your home.
3. Grazing Tables
Food display tables at weddings are making a comeback and guests are loving the light grazing options. Food stations like charcuterie tables and seafood towers with creative displays will be popular this year.
4. Cash Gift Cards and Experience Gifts
Couples are excited to travel and experience the world together as newlyweds. Cash gift cards are more popular than ever, and enable the couple to put it to use for their next adventure, on their own timeline. Online registries like Zola enable you to ask your guests to fund part of your honeymoon: think plane tickets, scuba diving adventures, happy hour drinks at your resort pool, or spa services. Gift cards to explore new experiences such as activities, restaurants or cafes are also great gift ideas. Your guests will be happy to know you are thinking of them every time you grab a cup of coffee from your favorite local shop.
5. Altruistic Party Favors (Charitable Donations)
Couples are opting out of physical wedding favors and instead, placing a donation in the name of their attending guests to the charity of their choice. By booking your wedding at Casa Romantica, you support our 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which preserves local history and provides cultural and community events and arts education programs for people of all ages. Every dollar that you invest into booking your day goes right back to the preservation and community-based programs that Casa Romantica operates. Learn more about Casa Romantica’s mission here.
6. Extra Experiences
Wedding Parade – In many European countries, wedding couples and their guests have a parade to celebrate their marriage. Consider doing this at your wedding by walking down to the San Clemente Pier or walking up the street to Avenida Del Mar. Casa Romantica is located in the heart of the City of San Clemente and walking to either of these locations will draw the eyes of the local beach community to celebrate in your union.
Interactive Entertainment – In addition to your wedding DJ or Band, hire entertainment that your guests can interact with. Try hiring a Tarot Card reader, or professional dancers to disco with you on the dance floor.
As wedding traditions and trends change, be true to what you want to see on your big day. Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens has been operating as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization for 20 years and we are proud to serve our community as well as to be a part of one of the most important days you can experience in life.
