In November of 2022, Casa Romantica hired Noah Guild to take over the planning and managing of our gardens as the horticulture manager. We asked him a few questions so that our patrons could get to know our newest member of the Casa Romantica team.
Interview Questions
Why did you want to work at Casa Romantica?
I wanted to work at Casa Romantica because I believe in Casa Romantica’s mission. I love the idea of leaving a lasting and sustainable impact in our community, and to me that’s what my job is all about.
What is your professional expertise in garden design and management?
Before managing the gardens at Casa Romantica, I was a key-holder at Armstrong in San Juan Capistrano. I also have a background in designing interiors. Ever since I was a small child I have been drawn to the garden.
Which garden is your favorite?
The Monarch Way Station is my favorite garden! I am in love with flowering perennials, and I am really into the educational importance of this particular garden.
What’s your favorite plant/flower?
My favorite plant that we have at Casa Romantica is our monstera deliciousa collection. Learn more about them here.
What project are you currently working on?
Right now, I am working on building a chicken wire topiary to add to our amphitheater garden.
What plans do you have for the gardens at Casa Romantica?
This Spring we are planning to make huge improvements to our Food Garden, Children’s Garden, and Woodland Garden.
How else are you involved in the arts?
Besides being the Horticulture Manager at Casa Romantica, I also stay involved in the local choir scene. I have 20+ years of singing experience and it is my favorite hobby besides gardening.
