Known for making world-class arts and culture accessible in southern California, Casa Romantica has put together robust fall programing including music and dance concerts, a new way to learn about local history, and events fit for the whole family! See our list below for highlights of fall events.
Celebrate Diwali, “Festival of Lights”
This fall, Casa Romantica highlights Indian-American performing artists sharing traditional and contemporary arts through music and dance. Events, performances, and classes are centered around the Hindu holiday Diwali, “Festival of Lights.” Featured events include a Bollywood Blues concert, Indian themed art and wellness classes, and Blue13 Dance Company performing high-energy traditional and contemporary Indian dances.
Learn about Casa Romantica’s storied past!
On November 18, 2021, travel back in time to learn the history of Ole Hanson’s 1927 estate. Discover the history of Casa Romantica and what started as the founder’s home that turned into a premier cultural center. Docents will be placed around the Casa and each room will feature a different appetizer and cocktail based on the history of the house.
Attend a New Orleans jazz concert for the whole family.
On October 9 @ 12 PM Jazzy Ash and the Leaping Lizards performs New Orleans jazz and educates young audiences on the genre. They have performed at numerous venues including Lincoln Center and Sprout Network (NBC), produced five albums, and have been featured by NPR and LA Times. All Casa Kids events are provided at low cost in order for arts education to be available to everyone. This concert is free for kids 12 and under and $5 for adults.
Be spooked at Casa Creepy Haunted House.
Walk through 2.5 acres of the most haunted mansion on the block! Werewolves, vampires and ghosts are waiting behind every corner of our historic home, and you can bet on plenty of creepy-crawlies in the gardens. This event is recommended for everyone 10 years and older. This event takes place October 28-30 from 7-9 PM nightly.
