Executive Director Berenika Schmitz will be a panelist at the 2018 American Public Gardens Association Southern California Conference. The panel is about public gardens leadership. The conference is a networking and learning opportunity for gardening experts in the Southern California region.
Berenika will be a panelist for the education session entitled “The Road Less Traveled: Fostering a Creative Path to Public Garden Leadership” on June 6th at the Disneyland Resort. This talk is a part of the conference’s “Leadership, Innovation, and Advocacy” program. The topic overview states that “Successful public garden leaders can emerge from diverse educational and career backgrounds. With a shrinking pool of horticultural talent coupled with the elevated challenge of successfully operating a non-profit organization, the public garden world benefits by embracing and fostering leadership diversity.
