“A garden should have a sense of discovery…Flowers peek out of corners and spill out of planters. At every twist and turn, a surprise awaits.”
Such majestic and mysterious views may be found throughout Casa Romantica’s onsite coastal gardens, aligned with succulents and several California native drought-tolerant plant species. The natural beauty of some of these plants has even provided inspiration for Casa Romantica’s art exhibitions and horticultural workshops, such as our Casa Coastal: Rebecca Louise Law community-based installation project, and our annual succulent wreath-making workshop, which has proven to be very popular among our guests during the holidays.
We are honored to report that the Orange County Register has written a feature providing readers with a deeper look at the vision underlying Casa Romantica’s gardens crafted by our Executive Director, Berenika Schmitz, and the techniques that our Garden Director, Lisa Chmura has implemented to translate this vision into a living, breathing reality.
