The 2nd Annual Weekend Casa Jazz Club at Casa Romantica, San Clemente promises two noted musicians over two days. On Saturday, at 7:00pm, Grammy-Award nominee jazz pianist John Beasley, who has worked with Freddie Hubbard and Miles Davis among others, brings his singular, and according to the Los Angeles times “refined” ability to meld influences to the historic arts and cultural center. Playing before him is Alex Flavell, a dynamic pianist who won the “Yamaha” award for American jazz.
Sunday starts earlier at 1:00pm with renowned jazz trumpeter Gilbert Castellanos at 1:00pm. A multi-hyphenate (musician, composer, producer) Castellanos, who performs with the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra is a San Diego native performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival at a young age and was a member of the jazz ensemble Black Note.
