“History seeps from every nook and cranny of the former home of San Clemente’s founder,” notes Eric Heinz, City Editor of the San Clemente Times in his recent article regarding Casa Romantica’s upcoming 90th birthday celebration.
On Sunday, September 3, 2017, Casa Romantica will host its Bee’s Knees: 90th Birthday Bash in conjunction with its D. Yoder Family Sundays series to celebrate not only the history of the home as a landmark, but also the growth of the cultural center as an artistic and educational institution in recent years.
“It’s so wonderful to welcome the members and non-members of the community here,” states Casa Romantica Board of Trustees President Ruth DeNault.
“The idea is to get farther and farther ahead to provide transformative programming, and now we have the time to do that,” says Berenika Schmitz, Executive Director of Casa Romantica.
Guests will be admitted free of charge to Casa Romantica. They will be invited to enjoy birthday cake, participate in a 1920s costume contest, and engage in early twentieth century games with friends and family.
