Art Lecture with James Irvine Swinden
Join us for an art lecture at Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens with James Irvine Swinden, chairman and co-founder of the Irvine Museum Collection at UC Irvine. A direct descendant of the Irvine family, he helped establish the museum in 1992 to showcase California impressionist art (1890-1930). Under his leadership, the museum has been key in preserving and educating about this important regional art.
Gems of California Impressionism, on view from March 20 through June 15, 2025 in Casa Romantica’s Art Gallery, is a selection of 24 works from the James Irvine Swinden Family Collection that showcases diverse interpretations of California’s natural beauty.
