Casa Romantica receives $5,000 donation from Irvine Software Company Netwrix
Gift given to “change the future by investing more into their education and happiness”
San Clemente, CA – Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, a nonprofit southern California cultural center, is pleased to announce that the institution has received a $5,000 corporate donation from Netwrix, an IT security software company located in Irvine. Given in person by co-founder Michael Fimin, the donation will help to preserve the institution’s historic landmark and support arts education.
Michael Fimin, Co-Founder of Netwrix, led the efforts for this generous gift. He fell in love with Casa Romantica’s cultural center, and his children have also enjoyed its sprawling gardens. “Casa Romantica is an essential part of our local culture and an incredibly beautiful place. I am glad that there are people who do their best to preserve and enhance this prominent landmark, so Californians like me can have a great family time there,” said Fimin.
Netwrix has a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program that funds local non-profit organizations in California to protect the environment, preserve local landmarks, fund medical research and support children education and well-being. Fimin selected Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens as a recipient due to its enrichment of the cultural heritage of Orange County.
“We at Casa Romantica sincerely appreciate Netwrix’s gift of support,” says Executive Director Berenika Schmitz. “This gift is evident that our local leaders share our passion to provide accessible arts and cultural programming for children and for people of all ages.”
Casa Romantica plans to fulfill the two organizations’ common mission by allotting funds to historic site preservation, funding thought-provoking talks via its Casa Up Close series, and funding engaging art activities through its Casa Kids series. The Casa Up Close series brings experts from a variety of disciplines to engage with the community about topics such as the arts, education, biology, history, and political science. The Casa Kids series consists of regularly scheduled arts and cultural events for children. These include free arts and crafts activities every first Sunday (D. Yoder Family Sunday), an annual Music Festival & Academy and annual Summer Dance Workshop, a Spring Break Arts Workshop, art, garden, and cinema events, and field trips for over 2,000 children in the Capistrano Unified School District.
Along with a donation to Casa Romantica, Netwrix Charity Program also provided other local organizations with funds in 2018 to supplement projects relating to protection of the California coast, youth education, and research for quality medical services.
