San Clemente, CA – Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens is pleased to announce that award-winning ensemble Mt. San Antonio College Chamber Singers will perform at Casa Romantica on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 7pm. The 40-voice chamber choir, led by conductor Bruce Rogers, has been the recipient of numerous national and international prizes around the world in its 23-year tenure.
The ‘Mt. Sac’ Chamber Singers are known for their eloquent blending of sound – brilliant tone, virtuosity and imagination encompassing a range of classic and recent works.
“The Mt. San Antonio College Chamber Singers are one of those rare groups that can perform an eclectic and difficult selection of pieces with striking fluency,” says Casa Romantica Executive Director Berenika Schmitz. “Casa Romantica is proud to bring this internationally-recognized ensemble to new and veteran classical music patrons in Orange County.”
The ensemble received more awards than any choir in the history of the competition at the 2007 International Musical Eisteddfod Competition in Wales. They won three first prize awards at the 2003 Grand Prix Choir Competition in Bulgaria, three first place awards at the 2011 American International Choral Competition in the USA, and two platinum medals at the 2012 Xinghai Prize International Choir Championships in China. Most recently, they received three gold medals and took home the first place prize as Grand Prix Champions at the 2015 Grand Prix of Nations choral competition in Germany.
Special performance invitations include headlining the Canadian Rocky Mountain Music Festival and the Australian National Choral Association Convention, headlining the Carnegie Hall Stage in New York City on four different occasions, performing at nine American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) National and Regional Conventions, performing for U.S. Senators in Washington D.C., and performing “Star Wars In Concert” to sell-out audiences at the Honda Center and the Nokia Theater. The Chamber Singers have gone on five European tours and numerous North American tours.

Casa Romantica also hosts a variety of free arts education programs for children year-round. The institution’s annual Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy has received critical praise for its comprehensive two-week music studies program in cello, piano, viola, and violin, and begins its third season in summer 2017. Casa Romantica also offers a Summer Dance Workshop, a Spring Break Arts Week, various art, literature, and horticulture events to grades K-12, and welcomes over 2,000 children from the Capistrano Unified School District each year for STEAM-based field trips that examine the history of San Clemente and the coastal environment.
