San Clemente, CA – Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, an award-winning nonprofit cultural center in Southern California, will honor veterans and active duty military servicemembers with free admission to Casa Romantica on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in recognition of Veterans Day.
In addition to free admission for veterans and active duty servicemembers, Casa Romantica will offer commemorative badges for each guest to show pride in serving our country. ID will be required to prove active duty or veteran status.
“Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens is proud to honor our nation’s military veterans and active duty military servicemembers on Veterans Day with free admission to our historic landmark,” says Executive Director Amy Behrens. “With our close proximity to Camp Pendleton, we are especially aware of the impact made by our neighbors’ sacrifices so that communities nationwide benefit from a rich cultural landscape celebrated in the mission of nonprofits like Casa Romantica.”
Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, located in San Clemente, CA, offers year-round free admission to active duty military servicemembers during public hours with current military ID. The former historic home of Ole Hanson, founder of the city of San Clemente, Casa Romantica’s coastal property on the bluffs above the Pacific provides a unique experience for all ages as a center for arts and culture. Casa Romantica’s rich programming includes events in music, visual art, dance, theater, lectures, and classes for people of all ages, as well as concerts, craft and outdoor activities, field trips, classes and academies just for children aged 0-18.
Casa Romantica has numerous free or low-cost arts education programs for families and children. Military families are invited to attend the following upcoming events:
- D. Yoder Family Sundays : FREE admission for people of all ages on the first Sunday of each month, 10 AM – 2 PM. Includes kid-friendly activities that rotate monthly.
- Casa Kids Storytime : FREE every Wednesday morning, 10 – 11 AM. Recommended for ages 2-4; parent/guardian supervision required.
- Casa Kids Club : FREE every Tuesday afternoon during the academic school year, 3:30 – 5 PM. Suitable for ages 5-12; parent/guardian supervision required.

Casa Romantica also hosts a variety of free arts education programs for children year-round. The institution’s annual Casa Romantica Music Festival and Academy has received critical praise for its comprehensive two-week music studies program in cello, piano, viola, and violin. Casa Romantica also offers a Summer Dance Workshop, a Spring Break Arts Week, various art, literature, and horticulture events to grades K-12, and welcomes over 6,000 children from the Capistrano Unified School District each year for STEAM-based field trips that examine the history of San Clemente and the coastal environment.
