San Clemente, CA – Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, a non-profit organization, celebrates a return to its popular Casa Kinetic dance series with a one-night performance of the top jazz dance sequences of all time from the silver screen, performed by the LA Follies. “All that Jazz,” an original revue commissioned by Casa Romantica, celebrates Hollywood’s most beloved choreographers, from Bob Fosse to Michael Bennett. The one-of-a-kind evening includes interludes from live vocalists evoking signature songs from iconic musicals.
“This commission is an excellent example of Casa Romantica’s mission to provide exceptional arts opportunities for people of all ages at our historic landmark,” says Executive Director Amy Behrens. “Setting a performance that pays homage to jazz dance and musical film in the context of our estate, built in 1927, ‘All That Jazz’ is a commentary on the rich history of the art form and of artful experiences as a whole.”
All That Jazz is underwritten by Gordon and Helen Olson with support from Peter and Gail Ochs.
In compliance with the orders and guidelines from the California Department of Public Health, this event will be held entirely outdoors in the Casa Courtyard, an open-air venue inside Casa Romantica’s historic estate with the intimate air of a cabaret club. The event has limited capacity to ensure that seating will be physically distanced by household. Guests will have their temperature screened upon arrival, and masks will be required at all times except when guests are eating or drinking in their seats.
“The safety of our guests, team, and performing artists are Casa Romantica’s top priority,” says Behrens. “We are proud to be a leader among other cultural institutions by adhering to rigorous health and safety protocols so our audiences can continue to enjoy our mission-focused high-caliber music programs.”
