In 1999, an anonymous million-dollar donation was the catalyst for transforming Casa Romantica from an aging historic home into the extraordinary Cultural Center and Gardens we enjoy today. As nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, we continue to rely on generous financial support from the community to maintain this cultural treasure and provide world-class programs for all ages in arts, music, history, horticulture, and literature. Casa Romantica has left a tremendous positive impact on the community.

  • Since reopening after the landslide, Casa Romantica has welcomed 20,000 visitors over the past 10 months. Guests have enjoyed 145 pieces of art, 70 cultural events, and six beautifully renovated gardens.
  • In 2023, Casa Romantica hosted 100 free events and over 300 low cost events (under $10) to make arts accessible to our community.
  • Since 2013, 250,000 people have visited Casa Romantica and served over 31,000 children.

Why should I give to Casa Romantica?

Casa Romantica is the only center of its kind in south Orange County, providing award-winning enrichment for people of all ages in our nationally registered historic landmark, the Ole Hanson home.

In order to continue expanding the breadth and quantity of its world-class programs, Casa Romantica must raise over $1 million annually. As a non-profit, we are not only responsible for all operating and programming costs, but also for preserving and maintaining our historic property and gardens. Because do not receive government funding, philanthropic gifts from individuals and businesses are critical to Casa Romantica’s continuing success.
