This week, April 19-25, is National Volunteer Appreciation Week. Casa Romantica is fortunate and grateful to have many different kinds of volunteers that sustain our nonprofit, both from our Volunteer Corps and from individuals, businesses, and service groups in our community.
Here are some of the ways that volunteers contribute:
- Greeting every visitor and member warmly at Casa Romantica’s entrance
- Sharing enthusiasm for our historic home, gardens, and galleries with docent-led tours
- Signing up and welcoming new members into the Casa family
- Creating excellent patron experiences as parking lot attendants, greeters, cashiers, hospitality servers, ushers, and ambassadors
- Fulfilling critical repairs and maintenance for our historic home
- Maintaining our numerous gardens
- Hand-making beautiful merchandise for our Gift Shop
- Setting policy and offering guidance to the nonprofit to ensure its longevity
- Serving food, beverages, and/or providing services at our annual fundraiser gala
- Donating goods and services to our live and silent fundraiser auctions
- Sharing Casa Romantica’s mission with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers
Just by sharing Casa Romantica with others, you have contributed priceless volunteer help to nonprofit. We could not be the strong organization that we are without the help of ALL volunteers, especially in this challenging time.
If there is one thing I can ask of you right now, it is to explore Casa Romantica’s new virtual arts programming at CasaRomantica.org. Then, share your favorite concert, interview, artwork, or learning activity with someone who would find joy from it as well!
If you have the ability to do so, please consider making a gift to our annual fund, becoming a member, buying an early-bird ticket to our Toast to the Casa gala (happening September 19), or even purchasing a gift card from a local business to donate to our fundraiser’s auction ̶̶ supporting two integral parts of our community with one action.
However and whatever you are doing to support your community during this time, it is enough — and we are so proud that you are a part of our Casa Community.
I’ll see you at the Casa (soon!),
