When fiancés Amanda and Tory scouted out Casa Romantica, they had a vision. Where others saw beautiful white Spanish walls and colorful tile throughout the home, they saw the perfect backdrop for their bohemian-style wedding. They booked their wedding date not long after their first visit and hit the ground running. The couple teamed up with a fantastic group of vendors including floral and event designer Cassie Jerrold-Jones from Wildflower Florist, coordinator Mikii Rathman with Neon Carrot Events, and day-of stylist Amy Beck with All in the Details to help bring their vision to life.
The theme was ‘bohemian’ with a dash of Alice in Wonderland “down the rabbit hole” ambiance (at one point there was talk of an absinthe bar). The couple wanted everything to reflect their eclectic style, beginning with their own attire. Amanda donned a flowing off-the-shoulder gown paired with a chunky turquoise necklace, while Tory wore a colored suit and a funky floral tie.
All in the Details and Wildflower Florist pulled out all the stops – creating a bold and colorful bridal bouquet, an array of whimsical centerpieces using air plants, a guitar filled with flowers, and a stunning teepee made of birch wood.
Metals and jewel tones enhanced the décor. The mantle was adorned with an assortment of crystals, brass-trimmed mirrors, mismatched votive candles, and plants. Big ferns and feathers added an extra touch of fun to the beehive fireplace. Much of the décor was provided by the couple themselves. Amanda and Tory brought in several items from their own home, and purchased a few things to help tie everything together.
In lieu of traditional escort cards, guests were instructed to take a record with their last name on it to find their table. They even provided a record player in the story circle (which was decked out with blankets, incense, and lava lamps) so guests could enjoy their music.
On the back of each dinner menu was a map of the property detailing the location of each of the evening’s events. Amanda and Tory provided their guests with plenty of fun and adventure. The highlights of the entertainment were a giant Jenga game, a photo booth, and of course dancing in the main salon.
In lieu of traditional wedding desserts, guests were treated to an ice cream sandwich bar provided by Chunk N’ Chip.
As the magical evening came to an end, guests were given their own potted succulent – a parting gift that would continue to remind them of Amanda and Tory’s wedding and homage to the California native landscape of Casa Romantica.
We love the way Amanda and Tory transformed Casa Romantica into a bohemian wonderland. They chose an incredible team of vendors to help them turn their vision into a reality and every part of their big day was a true reflection of their fun and funky style. We hope you will be as inspired as we were to get creative and dream up your own one-of-a-kind wedding!
