Mallory and Jake met eight years ago when they were both working at a Guitar Center. A romance developed between them, and they’ve been together ever since. In March 2017, Jake proposed to Mallory at Disneyland (her favorite place in the world) next to Cinderella’s fairy tale castle.
Casa Romantica represented the perfect fairy tale venue for the motifs that represented the couple’s childhood homes: desert-chic terra cotta + cacti for Mallory, who grew up in Arizona, and Spanish Colonial Revival charm + Monterey cypress trees for Jake, who spent his youth in California’s Bay Area.
The couple wanted their wedding decor to be light and elegant. Pale blue linens with white, silver and crystal table settings from Signature Party Rentals perfectly complimented Casa Romantica’s natural beauty. It echoed the scenic ocean view without detracting from it.
Lynne Lucente Floral Designs added delicate blue and white flower arrangements and bouquets.
With her blond hair styled in a soft up-do, a strapless dress with a beaded bodice and gossamer chiffon layers, silvery heels, and a bouquet of creamy white roses and navy thistles (symbols of purity and royalty, respectively), Mallory resembled Cinderella herself. She got dressed on wedding day in the vintage-glam Bride’s Room (Mrs. Hanson’s Room) with her mother and bridesmaids, who wore fluttery pale blue gowns.
Meanwhile, Jake and his groomsmen readied themselves in Ole Hanson’s room and office, donning smartly-tailored dark gray suits and white shirts with bow-ties the matched the color of the bridesmaids’ gowns.
The couple had their First Look experience along the romantic, winding pathway lined with Monterey Firs in the Woodland Garden.
The cloudless sky over the Ocean Terrace was the same shade of blue as the linens when Mallory and Jake were married under a rustic cross-shaped altar fashioned from a birch sapling by Lynne Lucente and wedding coordinator Events by Katherine.
Everyone in the bridal party shared a fun, “beachy” accessory for the ceremony: sunglasses with translucent aqua rims.
The food for the wedding was catered by Iva Lee’s, who provided impeccable service and cuisine. “Everyone kept talking about how delicious the food and drinks were,” remembers Mallory.
Sweet and Saucy Desserts created a crisp white wedding cake with corresponding cupcakes and parfaits for guests, all accented with white and navy floral embellishments.
Given their choice of jobs when they met, it’s no surprise that music is important to both Mallory and Jake. They flew out Business Time, a highly-rated rock and pop wedding band from Boston, to play high-energy covers of their favorite songs.
When we asked Mallory what the couple’s favorite memories of the day were, she replied, “Walking out with Jake into the [Courtyard] dining area and being able to see all of our friends and family. It meant so much to us both to have everyone in this dreamy place for the best day of our lives.”
