Their love story began on the other side of the world.
Lauren and Vince both attended a San Diego college, but didn’t meet until they both spent a semester abroad in Hong Kong. One day, their study group attended a horse racing event. Lauren and Vince struck up a conversation, and Vince impressed Lauren with his knowledge about horses. They spent the rest of the evening talking, and made date plans! After they returned to San Diego, their relationship continued to develop. Soon after, during a Vancouver hiking vacation, Vince proposed and Lauren accepted.
Lauren and Vince had both grown up along the southern California coast and knew that they wanted a beachfront wedding. Lauren grew up near San Clemente and a family friend had recommended Casa Romantica to her. It was the first venue that the couple toured, but they knew instantly that it was the right one. “Casa Romantica checked all the boxes in everything we were looking for,” says Lauren.
Lauren described her wedding style as “classic, elegant yet comfortable, with a beach glam atmosphere.” The bridesmaids’ bright coral dresses contrasted perfectly with the ocean blue groomsmen’s suits, and delicate gold accessories added subtle glamour.
Because Lauren and Vince love to travel together, they named each dinner table after a city that holds special memories for them.
The couple chose classic white flowers paired with brightly-hued peonies that echoed the white, coral, rose and green color palette of Casa Romantica for their floral arrangements. “We wanted the flowers to highlight the Casa’s Spanish Colonial architectural elements and compliment the stunning views,” said Lauren.
Their florist, Cheri of Petite Bouquet, worked with the team at It’s All About the Cake to bring the floral motifs onto their creamy, classic white tiered wedding cake.
Guests dined on a delicious meal from White House Catering complete with a piece of flatbread in the shape of the couples initials. “For weeks after our wedding, our guests couldn’t stop talking about how much they loved the food.” said the couple.
After enjoying dinner and dessert, guests danced the night away to a variety of music favorites from Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac, to Tom Petty and the Chainsmokers. Todd, from Epic 1 Entertainment kept the dance floor packed until the very end of the evening.
We asked Vince and Lauren what their favorite moment of the big day was. Here’s how they answered:
Lauren: “For me, it was our first look. We shared such a tender and loving moment together in a gorgeous, private garden before celebrating with our family and friends. The importance of the day really set in for the both of us then.”
Vince: “It was our first dance. We danced to Tom Petty’s Here Comes My Girl on the Ocean Terrace overlooking the ocean just as the sun was starting to set. It was absolutely magical and breathtaking.”
Lauren and Vince’s wedding was both heartfelt and visually stunning! We wish them the very best and look forward to seeing them back at the Casa soon.
