If you’ve ever walked through Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens, you might have experienced the beauty of the panoramic ocean views or the butterfly-filled rose garden. The home itself is a marvelous example of Spanish Colonial Revival architecture, with unique features such as as a stunning Moorish-style keyhole door, opulent chandeliers and dozens of tile designs.
There are so many breathtaking views and photogenic nooks at Casa Romantica that make it perfect for photoshoots. Recently, Casablanca Bridal rented the venue to shoot their Spring 2021 Collection. We sat down with Lorraine Steriopol, Social Media Coordinator for Casablanca Bridal and Melissa Theophilus, Marketing Manager, to talk about their new collection and why they chose Casa Romantica as the backdrop.
Q: What was your vision for this shoot?
A: Our vision for the Spring 2021 collection shoot was to capture something whimsical, ethereal and dreamy! We’re always looking to achieve an easygoing “feminine” feel in our images that will make our brides feel as beautiful as they truly are on their most special day. Casa Romantica was the perfect location, with no shortage of beautiful places to capture the fairytale.
Q: What kind of prep takes place to get a day like this together?
A: There’s plenty of preparation that takes place before the shoot. It all begins with a visual mood-board that helps bring the vision to life. From there, we move on to coordinating props, stylists, makeup, hair, production, and making sure our staff stays fed, safe and healthy – especially in the midst of the pandemic. Most importantly is creating a functional flow for the day as we have both a photo and video team working together at the same time to capture the magic. It’s a lot of work but always worth it!
Q: How did Casa Romantica influence the vision for this shoot?
A: Casa Romantica was a huge inspirational factor behind the theme for our Spring 2021 collection! All of the greenery and flowers made for the perfect lush, blooming backdrop. We fell in love with the colorful tile and historical architecture, which goes perfectly with the warm boho feel of our “Beloved” line — not to mention the jaw-dropping ocean views that took our content to the next level. It isn’t often you find a venue where you feel like you’re in a garden, museum AND a beach. Casa Romantica was a perfect choice.
Q: What is it like to work onsite at Casa Romantica for the day?
A: It was serene. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful, and there were countless locations to choose from. There is certainly no shortage of beautiful detail at Casa Romantica. It’s impossible to take a bad photo there!
Q: What can people expect from this spring collection?
A: We’re very excited to debut our first pantsuit set that comes the option for a removable skirt! More and more brides nowadays are opting for something comfortable on their wedding day, and what’s more comfortable than soft, flowing pants? Of course, there’ll be no shortage of gorgeous lace, accessories, long flowing trains and just the right amount of glimmer.
