Forever Starts in San Clemente: Danielle and Andrew

Andrew and Danielle met while completing their postgraduate degrees at Azusa University, and connected on Instagram two years later. Danielle was vacationing in Oceanside, and Andrew, seeing how near to him she was, reached out for a date — which brought them to San Clemente.

Their date took them all around town. They went paddle-boarding, had dinner together in downtown San Clemente, and watched the sunset on the beach (which ended with a kiss)!

San Clemente became a special place for both Andrew and Danielle, and that’s why Andrew decided to propose in the same place as their first date. “It was the perfect proposal,” said Danielle. “He brought the same wine we had on our first date, took me out to a lovely dinner, and our parents watched from afar as he proposed and I accepted.”

When it came to choosing where they would celebrate their wedding, Casa Romantica was a top choice. “We viewed the property the day after we got engaged, and we fell in love with it because it had the beautiful beach background along with a romantic and historic feel.”

Danielle and Andrew planned a summer wedding. Because they are both teachers, it was the perfect time for them to tie the knot.

Their wedding décor reflected the ocean’s color palette of muted blue and navy. It also incorporated a romantic touch with lanterns and dreamy florals. Danielle wore a layered tulle and lace gown with embroidered flowers. Andrew wore a textured navy suit with a light blue bowtie.

Each detail was selected to reflect a timeless and classic feel, but perhaps the most important details came from family. “My bouquet was very special,” says Danielle. “Our florist attached a necklace that was a gift from a beloved family friend. She also attached my grandmother’s broach. My grandmother passed away before my parents were married so my mother wore this on her wedding day to remember her mom. I carried on the tradition by including it in my bouquet to honor my grandmother.”

“Andrew’s mother also gave us a beautiful embroidered tablecloth that was passed down in his family at weddings,” she adds.

Among all the beautiful moments in Danielle and Andrew’s wedding day, their favorite moment was their first look. They shared their personal wedding vows with each other in the Story Circle that overlooks the San Clemente Pier.
