We know that these times are uncertain for so many of you right now. Please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you and we are looking forward to the day that we can celebrate life’s special moments together again. In the meantime, we want to share memories of brighter days and beautiful moments with you all in the hope that it provides a break during this difficult time.
Jake and Kelley met at a mutual friend’s birthday party in LA. Unbeknownst to them, their friends had been trying to set them up and shortly after the birthday party, they were both invited to a “friendsgiving” where they officially hit it off.
After three years of dating, Kelley came home to a red dress and flowers laying on her bed with a letter next to it that said, “Put this on and come to the roof.” Kelley quickly got dressed and ran to their rooftop deck overlooking Venice Beach, where she saw Jake looking “so handsome” in his new suit. Jake said beautiful sentiments to Kelley about their relationship over the last three years and expressed how it made them stronger, happier, and better people. He then got down on one knee and asked Kelley to marry him. Kelley said “Yes!” and could not have been more excited.
When it came to start planning their special day, Jake and Kelley were inspired by their friends Jon and Melissa- who had recently wed in San Clemente. They decided to look for a venue in San Clemente that they could call their own. When they arrived at Casa Romantica, they fell in love with the beautiful Spanish architecture and striking ocean view, in the sunny California beach town.
Jake and Kelley knew that they wanted to keep their decor “sweet and subtle.” Kelley loved the combination of blush and gold tones, and found that adding green eucalyptus and cream accents tied the entire look together. The couple enlisted the help of Priscilla Granger, with At Your Service, to coordinate their big day and bring their vision to life.
Jake gifted his groomsmen with personalized hatchets- a unique gift we have never seen before! They were also given matching pink floral bow-ties to compliment the blush colored bridesmaids dresses.
The weather on that February day was perfect! The sunny blue skies and crystal blue ocean made for an ideal ceremony backdrop.
After the ceremony, as cocktail hour came to an end, the newlyweds shared their first dance on the ocean terrace surrounded by family and friends.
Before taking their seats, guests were greeted with shots of tequila to help get the celebration started!
The courtyard was beautifully set for dinner with crisp white linens and fruitwood chiavari chairs. Tables were delicately decorated with blush and cream flowers- accented with gold votives and gold framed photos of the sweet couple.
Guests enjoyed a delicious plated meal with braised short ribs and salmon topped with panko crusted crab, catered by Carbonara Catering.
Kelley’s favorite wedding moment was when Jake serenaded her in front of their guests. Jake’s rendition of Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” was impressive- especially when Jake hit all of the difficult high notes.
Guests spent the remainder of the evening dancing their hearts out to hits from DJ Todd of Epic 1 Entertainment.
We are thankful to have had the opportunity to celebrate with Jake and Kelley on their special day. We are looking forward to many future celebrations!
