Ana and Maricela first became acquainted through Instagram when a mutual friend posted a photo of Ana and it caught Maricela’s eye. Maricela decided to take a risk and message her directly on the app. The risk paid off and after many text messages and phone calls, they decided to meet in person on New Year’s Eve. The pair spent the next few days together and their love story continued to blossom from there.
It did not take long for Ana and Maricela to realize they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Ana planned a surprise proposal in Las Vegas at a beautiful home decorated with candles and rose petals. Just as Maricela said “yes”, their closest family and friends who had been waiting nearby with champagne to celebrate and surprise them appeared.
As they began planning their big day, a friend suggested that they look at Casa Romantica as a potential venue. Immediately after seeing the property, they fell in love. The ocean view and Spanish style architecture was exactly what they had envisioned for their wedding location. They chose a June wedding date in honor of Pride Month, a time to celebrate equality and love for all.
Their favorite wedding moment was the ceremony. “It felt like a fairy tale out of a movie,” recalls Maricela. Pale pink rose petals covered the aisle which led to an intricate arch of suspended flowers created by Little Hill Floral Designs. The perfect weather, exceptional view of the crystal blue ocean, and occasional flock of birds flying in the background made each moment seem surreal.
Both Ana and Maricela wanted their wedding to feel very romantic. Candlelight, gold, and blush colors were present throughout every detail bringing their vision to life. The mantle was adorned with free flowing greenery, roses, and pampas grass.
During cocktail hour, the Main Salon was set with cozy seating areas for guests to sit and relax while they enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks from Iva Lee’s Catering.
Pro tip: Ana and Maricela re-purposed their intricate ceremony arch by using it as a backdrop for the sweetheart table during dinner service.
Centerpieces elegantly matched the ceremony arch and mantle pieces with an assortment of ivory and blush florals. Little Hill Designs used a mix of high and low vases to add depth and a creative flair to the dining space.
They also hired a mariachi band to serenade their guests with love songs throughout the evening. The band that they hired was the first LGBTQ Mariachi band in the world, which was especially meaningful to the couple as they celebrated their special day during Pride Month.
Guests dined on desserts from Simply Sweet Cakery, which included a white buttercream cake delicately adorned with blush roses and gold ribbon. After dessert, guests danced the night away to an assortment of hits from Vox DJs until it was time to bid farewell to the newlyweds!
