Kylie and Zack will be married at Casa Romantica in June 2017. Their wedding will pay homage to their love of backyard parties and family dinners.
Casa Romantica’s historic home is the perfect backdrop to what they describe as the best dinner party they’ve ever hosted.
With event coordination from Neon Carrot Events, the wedding reception will include long farmhouse tables from Signature Party Rentals for the lantern-lit courtyard, and family-style service from Iva Lee’s so that they can mingle among their guests and enjoy each other’s company. The tables will be decorated with pretty, soft floral designs from The Tangled Vine Designs, and desserts will be provided by a local sister-owned bakery, Black Sheep Sweets.
“Zack’s parents have been coming to Casa Romantica for as long as Zack can remember — always supporting art shows and taking any opportunity to wander the breathtaking grounds,” says Kylie. “I was invited to join them at one such event shortly after Zack and I started dating, and I immediately fell in love with the property, too.” Since couples who book their wedding at Casa Romantica receive a year-long membership to the institution’s cultural center, the pair attend monthly Member Nights at the Casa and visit their dream venue often.
For Kylie, Casa Romantica’s views are as meaningful as they are magnificent. She learned to surf at the San Clemente Pier with her father. “When my dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2013, I didn’t know if we would ever surf together again, but now he is walking the nose again and we visit this coastline together every week. It is a blessing to know that when my dad walks me down the aisle at Casa Romantica, we will see a view that means so much to us both.”
For Zack, Casa Romantica is a treasure trove of information about early San Clemente and California culture. “Casa Romantica is an example of our rich history, and seeing that reflected in the intricate tiles, graceful archways and wooden accents of the property’s architecture, makes it even more beautiful to us,” says Zack.
Love story:
Kylie and Zack met in a way that is unconventional for modern young Californians: their parents set them up on a blind date.
Kylie’s mother met Zack’s mother at their local gym. One day, Kylie’s mother called her on the phone with a news tip: “I just gave your name to my friend from the gym; don’t be alarmed if you get a Facebook message from her son!”

Zack did reach out to Kylie, and they met for dinner. “Lo and behold,” says Kylie, “four hours of eating, drinking, walking on the beach, and nonstop conversation later, we both conceded that ‘maybe moms do know best!’” After that, they were inseparable.
Zack proposed to Kylie on the third anniversary of their blind date, when the pair returned to the restaurant where they met and reminisced about their adventures together.
The couple live just down the street from their dream venue, Casa Romantica. They booked it right after they got engaged.
