We are officially closing out another year, and another decade! With the arrival of 2020 comes a plethora of fresh wedding style ideas. Read on to see + share some of the trends we’re expecting to see (and find out what’s likely to stay in vogue for 2020).
Ocean Blue
Pantone’s 2020 official color of the year is Classic Blue. As a oceanfront venue, we couldn’t be more excited. Say goodbye to pastels and hello to deep, rich colors! Bold pops of color will make a huge comeback this year in creative and unexpected ways. Ceremony aisles, cocktail receptions, and table decorations are ditching the clean, rustic look for a more exciting and personal ambiance. You can expect to see more couples making every aspect of their wedding a true reflection of their one-of-a-kind love story.
Table decor with attitude
Table decor in particular has taken on a completely new persona as of late — and we don’t anticipate the trend to fade any time soon. Couples are pushing aside the “barely there” design in favor of highly personal, symbolic tableware + table accessories. From handmade table runners to colorful glassware and centerpieces, guests will learn more about the wedding couple from the dinner table than from the maid-of-honor’s tearfully sentimental champagne toast.
Fresh fruit
Fresh fruit as decor?! Yes please! Adding a few freshly sliced papayas or blood oranges into centerpieces and mantle garland is THE HEIGHT of fresh wedding decor style in 2020. It adds the perfect pop of color and fresh tropical scent to your reception space and is a guaranteed way to wow each and every guest.
Comfort first
Say “hello” to comfort! We’re seeing more and more couples choosing comfort over everything, from sneakers under dresses to cushy seating. Consider re-purposing your ceremony space as a cocktail lounge for your guests with some great rentals — it’s a creative way to make the most out of your venue.
Bohemian bouquets
Stiff, stuffy bouquets are a thing of the past. We’re continuing to see a strong preference in 2020 for free-flowing flowers that look like they were freshly picked from your neighbor’s front yard. The cascading design of these bouquets makes every bride look like a bohemian goddess, and the photos do not disappoint.
Ceremony arches
The ceremony arch is a trend that’s here to stay, with new twists coming in 2020. Instead of the square arch we’re accustomed to, we’re welcoming a plethora of unique designs: from hexagons to flower curtains to hoops. The ceremony arch is a unique way to show off your creative streak (not to mention a stunning photo backdrop at Casa Romantica’s oceanfront ceremony space).
Whether your taste is traditional, quirky, avant-garde or relaxed, Casa Romantica is excited to celebrate with you in this new decade. Cheers to 2020 and to many happy celebrations ahead!
