After a few clicks & some type strokes, Leo & Emilia “e-met” on eHarmony in March of 2016. Many heartfelt emails were sent back and forth between Europe and Orange County in the following months. Their internet romance finally made its way to an in person meet-up. The couple shared a much anticipated first date over a warm bowl of Irish stew and some fizzy Stone IPA’s, and the rest was history.
On April 2nd, 2017, Leo thought it was about time he popped the question! On their second trip to Joshua Tree National Park, following their descent of a beautifully serene hike in the middle of the park with no one else in sight, Leo kneeled down on one knee to ask Emilia for her hand in marriage. Emilia recalls, “You could tell he had been anticipating the proposal for weeks especially because unbeknownst to me he had already told all of our friends and family out of pure excitement.” With both of them being lovers of nature and Mother Earth’s fine wonders, the proposal could not have been more perfect. This unforgettable moment was just a precursor to all of the magic they would soon encounter together as husband and wife.
This lovely couple chose the historic coastal grounds of Casa Romantica to pledge their love for one another and we couldn’t have been more excited to have them here. They had heard nothing but amazing things about Casa Romantica from their friends and family and decided they HAD to see this place for themselves. As soon as Emilia and Leo stepped foot on the property, they fell in love. It fit exactly the vision they were going for. With their organic aesthetic and Casa Romantica’s natural elements around every corner, Leo and Emilia knew this was the place to get married. The couple was striving for a vintage, Mexican theme that wowed their guests with an understated elegance. Leo and Emilia fell in love with our cactus gardens and found them to be the perfect complement to their wedding theme. It didn’t hurt that the venue was in San Clemente either! They had always had an affinity for the beaches here and wanted to honor that in their wedding story. The mixture of cultural elements and breathtaking location made it an easy decision for the happy couple to say “I do.”
With the two coming from culture enriched families, they decided to fully join together by incorporating both Mexican and Jewish traditions into their special day. Their wedding was quite memorable with a lively mariachi band and an intimate signing of the Ketubah, the Jewish marriage contract. Emilia states that it was definitely a highlight with “our Rabbi, the wedding party and close family joining in a room before the ceremony to sign, clap and dance while we signed and officially became husband and wife.”
When it came to the vendors that made this day as seamless as possible, the Greenstein’s definitely chose an all-star team. It was extremely important to this environmentally conscious couple that everything brought in was responsibly sourced. For floral arrangements, they did a mixture of succulents and local, seasonal California blooms picked by Adrianna from Bloom of time. For catering and coordination, Iva Lee’s was incredible. Not only was the food delectable, but Miya from the Iva Lee’s team was so organized and accommodating that the whole process seemed effortless. For photography, the couple found their match with Carolyn Ruiz. She has a way of capturing every second of joy and love that surrounded their big day with ease. Her talent was more than the couple could have ever imagined. Last, but definitely not least, Signature Party Rentals supplied all of the chairs, tables, etc. and made the whole process super easy and stress-free. Mr. & Mrs. Greenstein cannot recommend all of these vendors enough!
